Infotainment.com has been designing and manufacturing factory based infotainment solutions for 10 years.
The company's founder, Doug Indrunas, realized that the car stereo had changed. No longer just a part that just needed to be wired to work, the radio had evolved into an infotainment system. As technology—especially smartphones—advanced, it became apparent a new expertise would be required.
Doug took on the task of understanding how infotainment systems functioned, and their relationship to the vehicle's overall environment. Replacing the "radio" now required more than just connecting the wires with the same color from the car. Wiring became more complicated. Now GPS and satellite radio systems relied on the infotainment interface to function. Suddenly, car audio had transformed into computer programming and network configuration.
Now Infotainment.com designs complete end-to-end infotainment solutions. Simply delivering "parts" no longer meets the needs of most drivers. Factory infotainment systems would need to be easy to install and protect the owners warranty—that meant designing solutions that didn't require any wire cutting.
